Going to college brings a significant change to a young person’s life. Many students often leave the communities where they have grown accustomted too, which means breaking the bond with their local church. Finding a new church home that is a good fit can be difficult. It is often easier simply to drop out of church....Being a senior at Dillard University has had its ups and downs. I have seen so many disappointments and victories all in one. Spending personal time with God and maturing in my relationship with him has been an experience of a lifetime. Before writing this blog post I asked God to give me words to encourage a college student that is seeking God.

God gave me 4 different ways to help YOU... Yes YOU a college student, and a believer on staying connected in the presence of God.

1. Turn Thoughts Into Prayer.

Often times, I find myself thinking of my to-do list in the middle of my daily chores. Instead of constantly worrying about what I still need to get done, I turn my anxious thoughts into a short prayer: “Lord, Your will be done today” or “Help me to do my present task with love and devotion.” In this way, my thoughts become an opportunity to have a much needed conversation with God.

2. Be Still and Listen

You have to be quiet in order to hear God speak. If you want to hear God’s vision, then you’re going to have to turn off the television. You can’t listen to God and the TV at the same time!

The reason why God may never speak to you could be because you’re never quiet. Something is always going on in your mind, so while God is trying to get through to you on the telephone of life, he’s getting a busy signal. #PREACH

The Bible says in Job 37:14, “Pause a moment, Job, and listen; consider the wonderful things God does” (GNT).

3. Surrender All to God

Surrendering to God is not exactly about giving up total control over every single little thing. Obviously we still need to make choices about our daily lives and plan for the future. Surrendering to God is more about aligning what you want with what God wants and being willing to follow Him as He guides you in your life.

4. Be Grateful

Continue to keep a Praise and worship at the Fruit of your lips.

The fruit,” meaning what your mouth produces. The words that expose the motives and attitude of your heart.

These steps have helped me,I dare you to try this with GOD! He will always be there. #SpeakLife #Stayconnected
